Belleville Spring Washers

Belleville Washers are conical in shape, allowing them to work like a heavy-duty spring and provide high spring loads in tight places. They provide a spring force when compressed, useful for pre-loading assemblies or adding flexibility to a bolted joint.  Belleville Washers are also known as a coned-disc springs, conical spring washers, disc springs, Belleville springs or cupped spring washers. 

Deflection in a single Belleville Spring Washer is small.  Series stacking increases the deflection in proportion to the number of washers, but the load remains the same as a single washer.  Parallel stacking increases the load approximately proportional to the number of washers (a 5% to 10% load loss per washer is introduced).
