Slotted Head Shoulder Screws

Slotted shoulder screws are found in various industries, including electronics, instrumentation manufacturing, marine, medical, military, office equipment, and military. Common applications for slotted shoulder screws include:

Shoulder screws come with several head styles that, once inserted, all function the same. Therefore, you should select the type based on which head style best fits your application. Because cam out (when the driver tip slips from the head under torque) is common with slotted fasteners, slotted head shoulder screws are better for applications that require minimal torque. We recommend using hand tools when fastening our slotted head screws.

You should select the appropriate slotted head shoulder screw based on its dimensions and materials. Considerations include:

• Thread length: measurement from the start of the threads to the end of the screw
• Thread size: the spacing and size of screw threads
• Shoulder length: measurement that accounts for the bottom of the screw head down to the end of the shoulder
• Shoulder diameter: width of the unthreaded shoulder
• Head length: top-to-base measurement of the screw head
• Head diameter: width of the screw head
