The Rod End, also referred to as the Heim Joint, was named after the founder of the Heim Bearing Company, Lewis R. Heim, in 1942. The Heim Bearing Company later became a division of RBC Bearings, offering the industry’s widest selection of Rod End types and sizes.
Rod Ends are a compact & lightweight bearing that offer an economical advantage to conventional housing installation. Though plain spherical bearings offer misalignment capability in a fixed housing position, Rod Ends provide easier mounting and adjustment of position in installations such as mechanisms, linkages and control rods.
