Problem #1: Under certain conditions (e.g. running Windows NT and you are not set up as an administrator on the machine) you may receive the following message when launching the PIC application:

" Unable to read registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\I-Mark\SmartCATs\PIC Design Catalog\CatlgDir "

Solution #1: The file PIC.exe must be replaced by following these steps:

1. For Internet Explorer users click the Download Update link below and select run from current location (you will get a security warning click yes).
   For Netscape users click the Download Update link below and save the file to your desired location, then double click on the file from the saved location.
2. WinZip Self-Extractor window will open.
3. Unzip all files in SEPIC.exe
   

   Files will be unzipped to the folder specified in the "Unzip to Folder" field. Specify the folder name where the current file PIC.exe is located.    NOTE: if the default directory was chosen during the initial PIC install procedure, the folder will be    C:\Program Files\PIC Design Catalog\Program Files If a different directory was chosen for the initial install, enter the complete pathname in the "Unzip to Folder" field. The checkbox ‘Overwrite Files Without Prompting’ should be checked. Press the Unzip button. On the message window "1 file(s) unzipped successfully", press the OK button. Press the Close button.

You are now ready to run the PIC Design Catalog 44.1 CD ROM catalog.
